1) BLACKFRIAR PUB
where: across mckinney from its sister property, idle rich, where one can indulge in a fine saturday evening of swimming in one's own drink, compliments of smu's finest, while screaming as loudly as possibly at one's fellow boozers.
why i went: i like day drinking. i like patios. i like to eat. this seemed like the perfect place for that trifecta...
why it sucks: unfortunately, i could have bought a bench and a palm tree, hauled them to my parking lot at my apartment and made myself and my friends three rounds of drinks and a meal before we would have ever even seen our waitress at tha' friar. it was a beating. squared. the $50 bill after two hours of misery didn't make me feel much better.
tip: head across the street to jake's for $3 all day margaritas and incredible burgers that blackfriar can't shake a stick at... much less find someone to shake said stick at said burgers.
